Dear friends of Freedom,
As the challenges of Coronavirus (COVID-19) are constantly evolving we want to reinsure you steps we’re taking to minimize risk within our stores and the wider community.
Our key priority is the health and safety of our customers, staff, and those most vulnerable.
Where possible, Freedom aims for business as usual. This means our stores—both physical and online—are still trading and open during regular hours. Social distancing and general hygiene practices are key and we’re taking extra precautions, this includes ensuring that our s. ores are clean and hygienic, particularly in high-traffic areas like payment counters and as well as avoid shaking hands.
We are stringently following health and travel guidance issued by the Australian and New Zealand Authorities. This includes mandatory isolation for anyone returning from overseas, as well as providing staff with health and hygiene protocols, encouraging those who are unwell to remain at home.
At Freedom, we are committed to supporting team members and customers through this time and beyond. As the situation continues to evolve, the above plans may change but for now, we ask that you make health your number one priority.
For those awaiting delivery, there will be a minor impact on the supply chain in terms of lead times. Rest assured delivery is still going ahead, albeit with additional measures in place to protect both customers and staff. Some disruption will be unavoidable with extended closures of factories, although we are taking steps to minimise delays.
Thank you for your continued support.
Shipping and Delays
Whilst NZ has to date been effectively COVID free, the impact of this pandemic has had wide reaching impacts. One of these is on global shipping. As the world tries to reset itself after an extended period of closure, increased demand on international supply has caused congestion in most overseas ports and a shortage of available shipping containers to move product to New Zealand. A recent story featured on the Radio New Zealand website talks to the issues currently facing shipping into New Zealand.
Please be assured that we have solid partnerships with our freight forwarders and are working very hard to ensure the timely arrival of your Furniture products into New Zealand however please note there may be some instances which are outside of our control and we are currently experiencing delays of approximately two weeks above our original promise dates on existing Furniture orders.
In addition to the international shipping delays we are also experiencing issues with coastal shipping between the North and South Islands as global shipping companies omit New Zealand from some of their schedules.
We will be in touch to book delivery of your product as soon as it arrives, and we thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
