How-to-set-your-table-imageHow to create the perfect table setting

Have fun with your table linen and add drama by layering table runners, placemats, coasters and napkins. Use cotton napkins and find an interesting way to fold them for a more sophisticated look, or simply use a pretty napkin ring.

Create a focal point for your table with a beautiful centrepiece. See some of our ideas here.  Purple-festive-table

Chargers are an oversized plate and are for decoration only. They will add colour and depth to your table and should be used for soup and starters, but taken away for the main course.

For a more formal feast use a dinner and entrée plate layered and place the side plate to the left of the setting.

Place-CardCutlery should be available for each course and placed in order of use from the outside in. Forks are placed to the left and knives and spoons to the right. The butter knife should be placed on the side plate. The dessert spoon and fork are placed above the plate with the fork handle to the left and the spoon handle to the right. For high attention to detail make sure that all the cutlery is lined up the same distance from the edge of the table. Glass-as-Salad-bowl

Choose glassware that suits the purpose. The water glass is placed directly above the dinner knife and all other glassware is place to the right of the water glass.

Make your guests feel extra special by placing a name card in a gorgeous bauble card-holder with their name in pretty script.
